What is the Act on the Utilization of Funds Related to Dormant Deposits?
This law came into effect in January 2018. It states that, deposit accounts that have been involved in transactions since January 1, 2009, if there are no other transactions between the last transaction and the present for an intervening period of ten or more years, the funds in those deposit accounts (dormant deposits) will be placed under the management of the Deposit Insurance Corporation to be used by the private sector to promote public interest activities.
Funds in accounts that have been placed under the management of the Deposit Insurance Corporation can still be withdrawn at Seven Bank. For details about the withdrawal procedure, contact the Contact Center, and have your cash card on hand.
